Tendonitis

Tendonitis (or tendinitis) is an inflammation or irritation of a tendon, one of the thick fibrous cords that attach muscles to bone. It causes pain and tenderness just outside a joint and is most common around the shoulders, elbows and knees, but it has been known to occur in the hips and wrists.

Some common names for tendonitis are tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, pitcher's shoulder, swimmer's shoulder or jumper's knee.
