Health Publications

While the Internet can be a convenient way to access a wide range of health information, there is an even larger volume of quality health information that is either not available online or only available to those who have paid subscriptions for access or who belong to organisations that have paid on their behalf.

Many of HealthInsite's information partners provide paper copies of their brochures, fact sheets and other health information free or for payment. Some have lists on their websites of the information they can provide, with ordering details (look for website sections like 'publications', 'health information' or 'fact sheets' once you have reached the website you need).

If you have access to a local public or health library, you may be able to order copies of health and medical articles and books from there. To find a library in your area, try the Libraries Australia gateway. If you cannot get copies that way, you can still order them through the National Library of Australia's CopiesDirect service. Users of this service can order, pay for and receive copies online. If a particular document is not held by the National Library, they will search other libraries nationally and internationally and provide copies from them if available.
