Guillain-Barre Syndrome

Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) is an inflammatory disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the peripheral nerves outside the brain and spinal cord and, rarely, parts of the brain itself. Sufferers of Guillain-Barre Syndrome experience weakness and numbness in the legs and arms, and a loss of feeling and movement (paralysis) may occur in the legs, arms, upper body and face.
