Diet is an important factor in stroke, for which overweight and obesity are established risk factors. Strategies to reduce overweight include changes in behaviour, physical activity, diet and combinations of all three approaches. Recommended changes in diet include reducing salt, increasing dietary fibre, and eating enough fresh fruit and vegetables.
