Urethritis is an infection of the urethra. The urethra is the tube that runs from the bladder to the outside and urine in men, also ejaculate fluid ("cum") passes through this tube. Non-specific urethritis most commonly means there is an infection in the urethra. Sometimes the cause of the infection can be found but often is not proven. Non-specific urethritis is mostly due to a sexually transmissible infection (STI). About half of all non-specific urethritis in Australia is due to (chlamydia trachomatis).
