Searching tips

You can search for a word, phrase or a combination of words and phrases by typing your search words in either the Quick Search box or the Advanced Search Text Search box.

Under the Advanced Search Text Search box there are four options you can select to indicate which parts of an information item you would like your search to look in. The default option is to search for your word(s) in any part of the text of information items.

If your first search retrieves too many items (HealthInsite will only display the first 600 items of any search result), you can do any of the following:

1. Refine your search results by clicking on 'Refine Search'at the top of the search results page (See "Refining Your Search" below), or

2. Click on the 'Advanced Search' button on the left hand navigation bar or the 'New Search' button at the bottom of the search results page. Then use the 'Advanced Search' options to provide more search details, or

3. Click on the 'Quick Search' button on the left hand navigation bar and try putting more search words in your Quick Search.

You can limit your search to a particular information type, audience, date when added to HealthInsite or language by selecting from the pick lists and radio buttons on the Advanced Search page.
